Curved Stairlifts installed in Northern California:

A curved stairlift installation is a job for a professional.  With essential mobility equipment in your home, a company that knows what they're doing to install and service it is every bit as essential.  Benchmark Home Elevator has been installing Bruno stairlifts since 2008, and each of our staff has extensive experience installing curved stairlifts back to the 90's.
A curved stairlift (stair lift, stair chair) actually refers to the rail or track that the chair rides on. It is a lift that can go around turns, landings, full spirals, or anything that isn't a straight uninterrupted run. It is almost always the safest solution to multi-flight stairways, and is sometimes the only safe option.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q:   Are Curved stair lifts less reliable than straight stairlifts?

A:   Not if they are installed correctly.  We have been at this for a long time, and have the benefit of experience.  Benchmark's president, Scott Britton,  installed his first stairlift in 1991.  Technician Dan Feyk installed his first in 1989.  We also demand that our stairlifts be as reliable as we are, so we have been using Bruno stairlifts in 100% of our stairlift installations sine 2017.

Q:  Are Curved stair lifts more expensive than straight stair lifts?

A:  Yes.  Curved rail stair lifts cost typically at least double the price of straight stair lifts.
Q:  How do you measure so accurately for a large custom-made stairway?

A:  We use a digital survey system to measure our curved stairway lifts.  We barely have to take out a tape measure and can make all the measurements in a fraction of the time it takes to measure manually.  Our manufacturers guarantee a perfect fit because we use their system.  Additionally, this cuts back manufacturing time significantly.
Q:  Will I have to modify my stairs or reinforce the walls?

A:  Almost never.  The rails attach to the stair treads, not the walls.  Occasionally we have to move a hand-rail.
Q:  Do I have to hire an electrician to run power?

A:  Rarely.  Our lifts are battery powered.  The rail has a built-in charging system that can usually plug into a nearby standard outlet.
Q:  Where are your curved stair lifts made?

A:   All of our stairlifts are proudly made in the USA.
Q:  Does anyone make a curved rail outdoor lift?

A:  Yes.  The longest curved stairlift we ever installed had 97 feet of rail and made 11 turns!

Q:  Who does your installations, and who do I call for repair/service?

A:   We do all of our installations and repair/service.  We take pride in what we do, and our experience and expertise is unmatched.  Our excellent customer service is what sets us apart from the competition.

Q:  What do you call these things?  Stair lift, stair-lift, or what?

A:  Good question.  We have our customers refer to them as stair lifts, stairway chair lifts, stair-chairs, stair-glides, stair elevators, wecolators, and the list goes on.  We generally refer to them as stairlifts.
